Antonio and Corrado
We were born in the Cilento and we have been lifelong friends. After both studying in Rome, we took completely different paths: the first one becoming a geologist, the second one a manager. We met again many years later and we decided to pursue a dream we had had since we were teenagers: this is when, in 2000, Santomiele was born.

In a 70mq garage
we bet on our
imagination and on the fig
In order to resume what was Antonio’s grandfather business in the early 1900s, we began to reinvent the fig in a surprising way, revisiting it in a contemporary key.
We turned a poor product into an excellence, with fruits that are carefully selected, sun-dried and exclusively hand made from our skilled Cilento natives Artisans.
In just a few years, Santomiele has revolutioned figs’ world, creating a philosophy and building a brand known throughout the World, so as to reach the table of Queen Elizabeth II.

In a restored oil mill
from the 18th century
In the ancient village of Prignano Cilento, our headquarters and laboratory is a long-standing oil mill. A special and highly suggestive place where design, culture and art come together and the beauty of the territory is expressed in a culturally stratified language.
In 2018 Santomiele was nominated by the UN to represent Europe at an event in New York dedicated to small and medium-sized businesses.
By being capable of giving value to the human resources and the local product through a sustainable business model, we were able to reach the main objectives of the 2030 agenda launched by the UN.
What the Press says about us:
Antonio Longo and Corrado Del Verme are the men of fairy tales: they turned the pumpkin into a carriage, Cinderella into a princess.
Starting from the plain dried fig, they managed to bring out a product that exceeded all expectations, transforming, by definition, something from nothing into a small and rare work of art only for the finest palates and used by great chefs in delicious desserts or paired with cheese.

The beauty
of nature
In 2017 Vittorio Sgarbi, bestowing us the ‘’Pio Alferano’’award, said: “The award to Santomiele is the award to the beauty of nature”.
